Our History

Gem of the Day™ is the latest creation of one of America's premier jewelry families. Roxa R. Keller (pictured above) opened his first store in the late 1930s. Keller Jewelers stood for the finest in quality and the highest levels of service. Roxa's son, Robert D. Keller was known throughout the country, operating retail stores and one of the largest chains of watch and jewelry stores on military bases and PX's.

Gem of the Day™ was founded by Roxa's grandson, Bob Keller. Bob has 30 years experience in the jewelry industry, and has been President of two of the largest Retail Jewelry Chains in America, before founding Gem of the Day™. In 1995 Bob was inducted into the Retail Jewelry Hall of Fame, one of only 25 jewelers to ever receive this honor.

Gem of the Day™ is FIRST and FOREMOST an Internet Jeweler. While there are many thousand jewelry web sites today, we were one of the very first, going on-line in August, 1995.

Gem of the Day™ was developed, designed and begun "from scratch"as an Internet business. Why is this important? Unlike brick and mortar jewelers we designed our business on the Internet. We offer a up-to-date SECURE SERVER ORDER FORM, a unique try-it-at-home 30-day no-hassle return policy, 24 hour a day service, international shipping and full service, repair and jewelry design.

Gem of the Day™ is ON-LINE almost 24 hours a day, seven days a week. E-Mail is answered almost immediately. We travel the world, literally, with our complete on-line studio: computers, scanners, digital cameras, modems and more. We can custom design jewelry exclusively for you.

Gem of the Day™ was founded in the spring of 1995. Our first Web-Page was placed on line in August 1995. Our daily features began in mid-October 1995.

Gem of the Day™ expanded to a new, larger location in October, 1996. And we opened our first retail location at the same time. In September, 1997 we move to larger facilities and opened an all new showroom/retail store in Kosciusko, Mississippi. Our current location houses our computer center, warehouse and shipping center, photography studio, business offices and the retail showroom.

2. NO HIDDEN CHARGES. Within the United States there are NO shipping charges.* NO handling charges. NO sales tax added. NO charge for ring sizing. NO charge for gift-wrapping. The price you see on the item is all you ever pay.

   *Outside the United States there are shipping charges. INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE TO ALL COUNTRIES. PREPAYMENT MAY BE REQUIRED BY CERTIFIED FUNDS. E-mail for full details. If you are an International shopper you may be required to pay import duties or local taxes charged by your local tax authorities. Be sure to check with your local government authorities for this information before you buy.

3. PERSONAL SERVICE. Deal by phone and by e-mail with real people. You're advised promptly about your order or inquiry. You can call us toll free and get any information you need. And we service every item we sell.

4. OUR 30 DAY RETURN PROGRAM. We want you to purchase with confidence and security. As good as our photography is, it is no substitute for seeing the jewelry for yourself. That's why we give you 30 days to examine your initial purchase in your own home. If you're not satisfied, you can return the item for a prompt and full refund. with no hidden restocking fees.*

   SPECIAL ORDER ITEMS, ENGRAVED ITEMS and CUSTOM DESIGNED ITEMS MAY NOT BE RETURNED FOR EXCHANGE OR CREDIT.

   * Please note that there is a 20% RESTOCKING FEE after the 2nd consecutive return of any item or combination of items for exchange or refund. As an example, if item "A" is returned for exchange for item "B," and then, item "B" is returned in exchange for item "C," any return of item "C" (for any reason except initial defect) will be subject to a 20% restocking fee.

   * Extra cost shipment expenses requested at the option of the purchaser such as Express Mail, Overnight Shipments, FedEx, International Express or other additional cost shipment expenses are not refunded.
