The La Crosse Technology XG-55 Digital Altimeter and Compass Watch may be the ultimate Adventurer's watch! The XG-55 has eight major function modes. These are Current Time, Daily Alarm, Chronograph (stopwatch with lap memory recall), Timer (countdown), Dual Time, Barometer, Altimeter, and Compass. Of course the XG-55 is water resistant to 30 feet and backlit for easy night viewing. Although highly sophisticated, the XG-55 is designed for easy operation. Foe example the XG-55 has the ability to switch between 12-hour and 24-hour time format, current and dual time, and English and metric measurement units at the push of a button. - Counts Down in One Second Increments
- Preprogrammed Countdown Values (3, 5, 10, 15, and 45 minutes)
- User can also program one Time Value (i.e. 11 minutes)

Dual Time Mode
- Completely user programmable to the minute
- Fully independent of the main time
- Weather forecast icon is displayed
Altimeter Mode
- Altitude measurement based on barometric pressure
- Imperial (US) or Metric Measurement (1-foot or 1-meter resolution)
- Altimeter Range: -2306 feet to 30,065 feet
- 23-hour altitude history bar graph
- Time is also displayed in this mode
- Current temperature in °F or °C can be displayed in place of altitude bar graph
- Pressure recorded at each of past 23 hours along with time of recording can be displayed in place of current pressure and time
- Altimeter can be calibrated to display relative or absolute altitude and for exact sea level pressure (factory default is 1013.2 mb/hPa)
Barometer Mode
- Current pressure displayed digitally in inHg or mb/hPa
- 23-hour pressure history bar graph
- Time is also displayed in this mode
- Current temperature in °F or °C can be displayed in place of pressure bar graph
- Pressure recorded at each of past 23 hours along with time of recording can be displayed in place of current pressure and time
- Barometer can be calibrated to display absolute pressure if desired
Compass Mode
- Digital and graphical displays
- 16 cardinal compass indications (e.g., SSW) plus digital bearings in degrees
- Normal and backward bearing direction for measuring direction of an object from a reference point or determining your location on a map
